The 5 Interior Design Trends We Predict For Autumn Winter 2019

Interior design trends for autumn winter 2019 - Scalloped furniture by Sweetpea and Willow

Working in this industry there’s nothing we like more than predicting the trends that will dominate interiors through autumn/winter.

And although our moto here at HomeEnvy Members' Club is “follow your heart rather than follow trends” when it comes to designing your own home, it’s always nice to understand how the landscape is changing and discover what new products you can expect to see arriving into your favourite homeware stores over the next six months.

Under The Sea

A homage to the earth’s oceans, interiors puts the spotlight under the sea this autumn with all things aquatic making their way into our homes.

From accessories featuring fish and marine life motifs through to scalloped furniture, there are many ways to interpret this trend yourself – from the chic placement of white coral on your coffee table vignette to a more nautical approach with shell prints on fabrics and marine inspired artwork. Interior design trends for autumn winter 2019 - Jewelled toned velvet

Jewelled Velvets

Rich jewelled velvet has been popular throughout this year and there’s certainly no signs of this trend disappearing into the colder months.

Dramatic and daring, we can expect to see emerald greens, sapphire blues right through to Quality street purples – yes you read that correctly. More is more when it comes to this trend.

In terms of the velvet itself, we’ll see both matte, crushed and deep pile, with something for every style of interior design. (Image courtesy of Living it Up)

Interior design trends for autumn winter 2019 - black kitchens

Black Kitchens

Although a little intimidating at first, black kitchens – from cabinetry to fixtures and fittings – can look incredibly chic and modern.

Designed to pack a punch, this autumn we’ll see statement cabinets to both matte and glossy tiles, alongside both brass and silver hardware to add a luxe touch.

If this is slightly overwhelming why not embrace the trend with a more monochrome approach such as black industrial handles, central light fixture or a matte black tap. (Image courtesy of Dowsing & Reynolds)

Softly Softly

Inspired by nature and tranquility, expect to see an influx of soft textures, organic and subtle pastel tones in furniture and homeware this autumn/winter.

Designed to help you create a soothing atmosphere within your home, the delicate vibe is simple to achieve – think layered blankets and rugs, alongside curved edges and natural fabrics such as linen and wool to create a cocooned effect. (Image courtesy of The French Bedroom Company)

Interior design trends for autumn winter 2019 - Christmas blues

Christmas Blues

If you’re planning your festive decorating ahead of time, then perhaps consider one of the dominating colours for 2019 – blue - from midnight go navy to grey tones.

The beauty of these shades are that they can be paired with both gold or silver for a luxe look this Christmas, as well as adding something different away from the traditional green and red scheme.

Which of these trends are you most excited about incorporating into your home this coming season? And in fact, do you swap up your interiors each season, or do you buy more classic pieces?
